Flights to 5.4 per cent increase

The number of air transport flights in the second quarter of this year has been 1 million 767 thousand flights, or 5.4 % more than in the same quarter of last year.

Meanwhile, the number of travelers, who have exploited the plane as a transport vehicle, is around 465 thousand, where, in relation to the same quarter last year, it is an increase of 9.1.5%.

So says the communiqué issued by the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK), which has published Transport and Telecommunication Statistics for the second quarter 2017, with data on air transport, railway and telecommunication mails.

In Kosovo's territory there are a total of 333km of railway rails for transport and 110 private transport, until 8 diesel locomotives are circulated, carrying 27 cars, 9 travelers and 18 for luggage.

In the second quarter of 2017, the number of passengers who took the train as a travel tool was about 57 thousand, compared to the first quarter of 2017, which means that the number of travelers has increased to 9.19%.

Transporting goods by train in the second quarter of 2017 was 132 thousand tons, with a 35.41% increase in the first quarter of 2017.
