Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) has published the report with “Kosovo Death Statistics 2016”.
Over the past year, 9246 deaths have been recorded, of them in Kosovo 8495, while a total of 751 have been registered outside Kosovo. According to the AKS 4796 of the deaths are males (or 56.5 %) and 3699 female (or 43.5 %).
The ASS has also revealed the number of violent deaths in 2016, during which 188 cases of disaster 128, suicide 41 and murder 19.
Dead babies according to the AKS last year were 199, of which 116 males and 83 females.
Of the total number of deaths 46.3 of cases occurred at health institutions, 52.5 % at home and 1.2 % in the other country.
