Today it is 27 years since the then Kosovo Assembly delegates adopted the Constitutional Declaration of Kosovo independence, known as the July 2nd Declaration.
On this historic day, Kosovo has been declared a special entity, within the then Yugoslav federation.
The Constitutional Declaration of July 2nd 1990 was the act that will mark the historic institutional step of Kosovo's independence, which was carried out outside the parliament's object, in terms of siege by major police and military forces.
The Constitutional Declaration on Kosovo as independent and equal entities under the federation or the Yugoslav confederation declared 111 Albanian delegates in Pristina, as well as other Kosovo Assembly communities.
July 2nd Constitutional Declaration also marks the starting point for Kosovo's independence from Serbia, aiming to be treated as equal to then socialist republics in the Yugoslav federation.
