Elliot Clark was walking into the mountains near Game Creek with three family members and three dogs when the bear was thrown at him, reports Juneau Empire, Trnamson Express.
The bear had attacked two of them by striking down their sides, said Elliot's father, Lucas.
There were four people walking in a line, my son was third. The bear came after them on the same path, Elliot's uncle was first in a row, and the bear came near him so quickly that he didn't have time to remove the rifle from his chest,” Lucas said.
The boy had pulled out his blood rifle and shot the bear.
Huckas said that the first blow had done nothing to the bear, but the following two blows had thrown him to the ground and the final blows from the boy and his uncle had killed him.
The first “hit him in the chest and absolutely did nothing to him. The next blow hit him in the nose and went down his neck,” he said.
