According to what was distributed in the media, the Chilean midfielder had offended Cristiano Ronaldon: “Cristiano is irritating! For me he doesn't exist” It was the words that were quoted as saying 30-year-old.
But what Vidal had actually declared was something else. He had told reporters: “There is not a ʹcuco in Portugal”.
“Cuco” in Chilean Spanish is translated as “Somebody from which you should be afraid” So Vidal's true statement was: “for me, there's not one of whom we should fear in Portugal's” team.
And to clarify everything has come out of Chile's team secretary, Maria Jose Vasconcelos.
The “those reported are false. The only thing Arthur Vidal said about Cristiano Ronaldon was in the mixed area, while he was wondering if he was afraid of '%cuco”, explained Vasconcelos for ESPN FC.
Meanwhile, Wednesday evening, Vidal's team eliminated him from Ronaldo's Confederate Cup after the penalty execution. /Telegraphy/
