Consulate interrupts its alleged crime-related official's work

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that it has cut off its working relationship with its driver, Albert Veliu, who has been arrested by American authorities on charges of money laundering, selling weapons and trafficking in narcotics. <x)
“Consulata confirms that the person in question has been engaged as a driver, in quality of local staff, by the establishment of the consulate, because there are only American citizenship and does not enjoy any privileges and diplomatic immunity”, is said to be ignoring the MPJ.

Among other things, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has clarified that Veliu has American citizenship and has no right to enjoy any diplomatic privileges.

Kosovo's “Consulate in New York, in line with its tasks and responsibilities, will co-operate with the authorities of the host state through official channels in connection with the above-mentioned case”, has concluded the MPJ report.
Albert Veliu, 34, along with American national Anthony Noterile, has been sent to the Federal Court in Brooklyn, New York, on charges involving money laundering and narcotics trafficking.
In addition, Veliu is charged with selling an AK-47 weapon, an M80 anti-tank rocket and the Zolja equipped with a 64-millimeter missile.
Veliu along with another American citizen charged with the same work, Christopher Curanovic, associate of “La Cosa Nostra” has created an illegal money laundering scheme through the sale of drugs.
