In parallel with working in the field of Tirana municipal companies for rehabilitation of flood-hit areas as a result of heavy rainfall, the network of volunteers has been helping throughout the night by preparing packages of food and clothing that will be distributed to families in need today.
Through a Twitter post yesterday evening, Mayor Erion Veliaj has posted photos of members of Tirana's municipal volunteer network, which are specifically helping affected families overcome this situation.
Further help, not reproach, is the solution. As Tirana municipality colleagues still work in remote villages to unlock the land, our super-volunteers made the day of preparing food and clothing for those affected by the rainfall! KFORCA”, writes Veliaj.
The Tirana municipality has committed all its companies to intervene by coming to the aid of citizens for any emergency situation that might arise. For the second day in a row, throughout the night, road companies, cleaning, sewers, lighting, municipal police, Territorial Protection Inspectors and Firefighters have established special working groups and are deployed on the ground, in service of citizens in all administrative units. Heavy vehicles have gone to rural areas to enable the release of roads as a result of landslides.
