Heavy snowfalls have caused jams at airports and on British roads, while Great Britain is facing a cold wave.
In Scotland the Glasgow airport was forced to interrupt activities in the early hours of the morning before it was resumed an hour later.
Several flights have had to be diverted to Edimburg and the airport has asked passengers to brief their flights to airline companies before going to terminal.
“Mes 08h:00 and 10:00 GMT, 10cm of snow are registered in the region of Glasgowt”, according to Met Office, the British public service for meteorological predictions.
According to this organism, Scotland, Wales, and North England are the most affected regions of snowfall, which are expected to reach up to 15cm.
Police have urged residents to avoid movement, and the company of the <x0 highway “Highway England” has asked drivers to be equipped with shovels, blankets, water and food before travel starts.
Insurance company “Automobile Association” (AA) stressed that it received more than 1 687 calls for defects before 10:00am.
The country has faced one of the coldest nights of the year. The temperatures have dropped to -12.3 degrees Celsius in Loch Glascarnoch, in the Greenlands.
