Serbs fear Kosovo's accession to Council of Europe, tough reaction coming from Dacic

In Serbia they are concerned that Kosovo can be admitted to the Council of Europe, an organisation that deals with human rights protection, democracy, rule of law and promotion of European culture. Kosovo authorities have indicated that by late January of next year they will submit the application for membership. [...]
Kosovo authorities have indicated that by the end of January next year they will submit the application for membership, and in Serbia worry that this organisation, which officially has neutral status towards Kosovo, will accept the newest country in Europe as a member because of the pro-Kosovo climate that exists among the organisation's current leaders, writes Novos.
The most vocal against Kosovo membership has been Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic, who has declared that the Council of Europe can accept Kosovo, as Kosovo is not a state.
If Kosovo is accepted only because it is recognised by the majority of European states, then that would be force policy”, Daciq has said.
While Milovan Drescu, head of Serbia's Parliamentary Commission for Kosovo, has said it is possible for Kosovo to be admitted to the Council of Europe in compensation for non-accession to the U. NESTO, Interpol and other international bodies.
