By “Le Mattin”, the changes adopted last December and will take effect on January 1, 2018, will only be the first step, albinfo.ch conveys.
These are aimed at improving professional integration and include lifting a special tax paid by refugees for temporary visas.
Many future regulations, scheduled for the summer of 2018, will replace an administrative process of simple authorization to those with F permits -- a 12-month interim visa usually granted to asylum seekers.
Other new regulations will present the provisions kkarrota and stick. If someone shows favourable progress in integration, a permit could be granted in two years.
If integration is not going well, then heavy sanctions could be imposed. Integration will be measured by looking at respect for order and public security, participation in economic life or education, and learning language.
Those who do not show a desire to integrate may be required to sign integration agreements, determining what is expected of them.
Disrespecting the agreement could affect the renewal of the permit. For example, someone with a C license ? a visa with permission of permanent residence that fails to meet integration requirements could find himself sitting on a B permit.
Refugees and holders of temporary permits receiving social assistance may be required to participate in integration programmes.
If they refuse for no good reason, they can see that their benefits have been cut.
