Kosovo police have held the closing conference of the year in which they presented the results of this institution's work during 2017.
Kosovo Police General Director Shpend Maxun named this year as a year of challenges to different natures, but according to him in co-operation with citizens and other local and international bodies have achieved success in terms of combating crime, security and maintaining order and calm, Stv21.tv.tv.
He claimed that the number of homicides declined during 2017 compared to last year.
“In 2016 there were 26 murders, and in 2017 there were 24 murders”, Maxim said.
He also said that the number of serious bodily injuries, down from 299 in 2016, have been recorded 271 this year.
Maxhuni said that during this period Kosovo Police have monitored 172 protests and gatherings.
Maximi added that safety - enhancing activities have also been held in schools, and thousands of patrols have been organised.
According to Maxhuni, Kosovo police have dedicated special emphasis to preventing narcotics use. /21Media
