While leading international reactions against President Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital, Erdogan has received the bad news of the life apart from one of his close associates, with whom he says he started politics decades ago.
Ibrahim Caglar, one of the most important business names in Turkey, as well as the president of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, lost his life at the age of 57 as a result of a heart attack.
President Erdogan, former President Abdullah Gyl, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim and former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu were among many political names and Turkish decision-making in last farewell to the prominent businessman.
President Erdogan's numerous commitments, which this week have been hosting Istanbul and leaders of the Islamic world in an effort to co-ordinate the international response to America's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital, have not prevented the t chase near his friend's family on this difficult day.
God bless my precious brother Ibrahim Chaglar. We started politics together. As we continued on this road, he became president of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. For no moment have we interrupted the relationship. I express my sincere condolences to family and relatives”, Erdogan said.
