This year, there has been a measles epidemic in Kosovo. Since June, since this virus has been presented, it has affected 1,005 people, with 552 being hospitals at the infectious clinic at the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo.
So said Free Europe to Radio Hamdi Ramadani, director of the infectious Clinic, under which those affected by the virus are mostly children but who have also spread to adults and affected the ages of up to 50.
Two cases that are in treatment at the Infectious Clinic are very serious. During the months since the disease was presented, two cases have ended with fatality. Our capacities have been on the level, both with medicine and professional staff, despite the many cases this virus has affected”, Ramadani said.
Fruit is a contagious and serious disease caused by a virus spread through direct contact and through air.
This virus can spread quickly, especially in countries where vaccines are below 95 percent of the population.
Based on a study by the World Health Organization (OBSH) and other institutions, in recent years, measles disease has resurfaced in Europe, where the number of people infected since 2007 has tripled.
O BSH says vaccines against measles should immediately be added across Europe and Central Asia.
For many years in some European countries, a group of people have lobbied against the vaccine of measles, giving of its own autism.
But epidemiologists in the country say the vaccine should be performed because it is mandatory and there is no connection with autism.
Isme Humolli, from the National Institute of Public Health, explains Radio Free Europe:
All the research that has been done so far proves that the vaccine against measles has nothing to do with autism. The parent takes note of signs of autism about 9 months, 12 to 15 months. Scientificly, there is no link between vaculation and autism”.
She adds that at the National Institute so far they have received positive fruit results from the laboratory for 527 people, and according to her, everyone has been unexplored.
From March 1, 2017, which has raised the alarm for the investigation of fruit cases, 737 cases of disease have been involved, until labically 527 cases of clinical epidemiological connections and are in a positive laboratory. All these people have been unexplored”, Hummolli explained.
Infectologists in the country say that for 16 years, no fruit cases had been presented in Kosovo until March of this year, when the virus had begun to spread.
This is because Kosovo has an inoculation coverage of over 95 percent of the population.
