The Union of Unions of Kosovo has proposed from 2018 the minimum wage in the country to take place from 170 euros to 250 euros.
This demand is based on the increase in the price of a family basket, which cannot be covered by a minimum salary of 170 euros, KTV reports.
While the government within this month will be required that, in addition to changing the provision of the labour law, which determines the minimum wage and categories it on the basis of age, change the amount as well. Employers' representatives at the Social Economic Council say they will support changing the minimum wage classification.
But, the proposed minimum wage increase from BSPK is considering too high.
Meanwhile, business representatives oppose the minimum wage increase.
Kohavision has asked the Kosovo prime minister's office whether to approve the growth of the minimum wage from 170 to 250, but the same have not returned.
