He also added that Turkey is negotiating with Russia over the Syria issue, and the two countries are taking positive steps where they will continue to do so, reports “Hurriyet Daily News”, Periscopi broadcast.
“You should know that negative relations between Turkey and Greece have become history now. Two countries have made a high-level strategic council agreement and established closer co-operation. Faith and stability are our most important principles”, Erdogan said, addressing the Greek people.
He also invited Turkish and Greek societies to show love and peace to each other.
When asked to refresh the Lausanne Treaty, which defined the modern borders between Greece and Turkey, Erdogan said that in fact, all agreements made in the world should be updated over time.
Erdogan also added that this update could strengthen friendship and security between the two countries.
He noted concerns about distances between certain islands in the Aegean.
