Turkey will apply to the United Nations to annul the United States' decision to recognise Jerusalem's capital of Israel, Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan has said today.
Through a teleconference, Erdogan has said that Turkey would initially call for the annulment of this decision to the Security Council, and if it fails, it would apply to the Security Council General Assembly.
“Call on all states, especially Europe, to recognize the independent state of Palestine and Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine. Of course, we will not be satisfied with this alone, we will do our utmost for America to annul its decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel”, Turkey's president, Rexhep Tayyip Erdogan, said.
Similarly, several days ago, Muslim leaders gathered in Istanbul, where they condemned President Trump's decision, calling on the world to respond, recognising eastern Jerusalem the capital of Palestinian authority.
