The United States has recently imposed new sanctions on North Korea due to its nuclear programme. In South Korea, however, fear continues to be present because of a more dangerous and cheaper weapon to produce anthrax. Government [...] is reported during this week
The South Korean government, led by the president and other officials, is reported to have been vaccinated against biological weapons during this week.
The government's spokesman has declared that the Korean Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has acquired 1,000 doses of anti-tax vaccines that it will give to agents fighting terrorism. They will also be given to civilians in case they are exposed to anthrax.
These vaccines had arrived at the offices of the Korean Centre for Disease Control and Prevention during November, while the government spokesman said they were ordered by the last administration.
South Korean officials have indicated that there is no concrete plan for residents to be vaccinated. But fear of anthrax attack has risen to the heads of North Korean residents, when a North Korean soldier fled for the past week in South Korea, antibodies of anthrax have been found in his body, evidence that experts believe he may have been vaccinated or exposed to anthrax.
These claims South Korean intelligence agencies have not been able to confirm. However, it is evidence that North Korean leader Kim Jong is developing a biological and chemical weapons program.
