This happened during today's meeting of the Commission for Human Rights, Gender Equality, for the Ungenerous and Petitions in which she is chairman.
At this meeting, while the ombudsman was reporting, Hilmi Jashari, moving to the next point of the agenda for reporting, four Serb majority municipalities in the north, it has been referred to as the municipality of Serbia.
“As the second point is related to the discussion of the ombudsman's recommendations regarding the billing of electricity spent in the four northern municipalities of the Republic of Serbia”, MEP Balje has said, among other things.
Moreover, the Ombudsman, while reporting before the Parliamentary Commission for Human Rights, Gender Equality, for Ungenerous Persons and Petitions, has announced conversations they had with the Power Regulatory Office ( ZRERE) about the issue of billing the north current on the bills of citizens of the rest of the country.
According to the lawyer, it is 8m euros that have been run by citizens to cover the electricity spending in the north.
The “Autorities with which we have official correspondence confirm that the current spent in the north is run by citizens of the rest of the country, and the value is 8m euros. This is an official letter issued by ZRE. ZRE officials have confirmed this at meetings we've had”, Ombudsman Hilmi Jashar said during the report.
He has also revealed ZRE's reason for making that decision in 2012. He says ZRE officials have told him that non-discovering energy spending in the north would bank the KED company and create energy collapses in the country.
When we asked why this method was chosen by other citizens for covering and spending the north, we were told that if this hadn't happened, then KED would have been banking as a company, there would have been an energy crisis in the country. And that was allegedly the background for a decision ZRE made in 2012”, the Ombudsman, Hilmi Yasar, said. /Insander
