“Dialog not transparent in Brussels”

Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is developing in an untransparent way, as no one knows exactly what is being discussed and what is being achieved at the end of each round. Kosovo's local Serbs are not even the priority in the Brussels dialogue, but only the interests of two states -- Serbia and Kosovo. So declared deputies [...]
Thus declared Kosovo Assembly deputies in the “Kosovo Serbs' expectations for the Kosovo-Serbia” dialogue, organised by the Kosovo Democratic Institute in co-operation with the Centre for Peace and Tolerance.
Serbian List MP Slobodan Petrovic said this process is very necessary, but there has been no transparency.
This dialog is required. What's the case with this process again I'm saying is this process is necessary, but I have to say there hasn't been enough transparency in this process. Few know about the subject they were. I had no information as to what the people were talking about. I was more informed by the media than I had official information. As of this, there is a potential for more manipulations and there is a lot of confusion in the citizens of”, Petrovic said, kp broadcasts.
LDK MP Arben Gashi praised that local Kosovo Serbs have not been a priority in Brussels dialogue. But according to him, dialogue is being used by Serbia to increase institutional presence in Kosovo, while Kosovo wants to be an internationally acceptable state.
“Since Serbia sees dialogue as an instrument of increasing Serbia's state influence in Kosovo, on the other hand, the Kosovo Government sees dialogue as an instrument on which it can expand its presence andness in the European Union. Otherwise, if it wasn't for the EU reports and the international community I am pretty sure we had refused to talk to Serbia. So we have different priorities and in this analysis of local Serb priorities there are no”, Gashi stressed.
Even Life Krasniqi from KDI stressed that now, when the new phase of dialogue is being warned, the Kosovo side must bear in mind that citizens want transparency, as transparency has been lacking so far over these years.
“The concern of citizens, which has also been revealed through surveys, has highlighted the deep lack of transparency regarding the substance reached with these agreements and has, above all, highlighted the confusion among citizens about content what these agreements actually have intended to reach”, Krasniqi said.
While Nenad Maksimovic of the Peace and Tolerance Organisation said the problem in this process is that dialogue has been initiated from the outside, not from the inside, from the parties themselves.
