Migrant children are less likely to return to their countries of origin. Between mid-March and late October, the Swedish agency conducted a audit for the age of 7858.
Of them, 6628 were 18 or over 18 years of age and 112 were perhaps 18 years old. The immigration agency has made 5700 decisions on the basis of these estimates. In 79 percent of cases, the agency has decided to officially consider the largest applicant than it originally claimed in the asylum application.
The age assessment has been carried out through x-rays and scans that were then analyzed to determine age. Many asylum seekers have no identification documents because they may have been lost as they fled the conflicts or natural disasters, the international migration organisation says.
In other cases, their native country may not have the right structures to record births, so it is not unusual for many people not to know their age exactly. More than 800,000 minors, many of whom to enter the country without parents or caretakers, have applied for asylum in Sweden in 2015-2016.
