Be careful: Don't drink too much soda, that's why

Gased drinks have already been demonstrated by health officials for their role in obesity. But a new study suggests that consuming sugard drinks can promote disease rates despite health problems associated with obesity. Reason: Sugared soft drinks encourage cells to grow older [...]
The reason: Sugared soft drinks encourage cells to grow older faster and to replicate less.
Research researched The DNA of soda users and discovered a strong link between soft drinks and cell aging. The more sugar consumption that one student had reported, the shorter the telomeres were.
Theomeres are the protective ends of chromosomes that protect DNA strands and stimulate cell reproduction. The shorter the edge covers, the cell is less able to reproduce.
The regular consumption of sugar soda can affect the development of disease, not only by forcing the control of sugars from the body's metabolism, but also through accelerated cell aging of the tissue,” researcher Elise Epel, professor and psychiatrist at the University of California in San Francisco, warned in a press release.

“is critical to understanding the two dietary factors that can shorten telomeres, as well as dietary factors that can last the telomeries,” explains the leading author of the study
Cindy Leung, researcher at the University Center for Health and Community. It seemed here that the only consumption of beverages that had a measurable negative connection with the length of the telomeries was the consumption of sugar soda”.
Already linked to problems of obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, soft drinks are quickly becoming the number one enemy of public health officials -- inspirationing almost as much criticism as cigarettes and trans-dives.
The study, which was based on DNA samples from more than 5,000 people collected as part of the National Health Efficiency and Nutrition Survey, was published in “American Journal of Public Health”.
