The man in question took off his shoes and socks on the bus from the state near the Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh in New Delhi and placed them under him, police say.
Other passengers were irritated and asked to throw their socks, but he refused physically, as much as forced the bus driver to stop near a police station in the Una district of Himachal Pradesh.
Police chief Sanjeev Gandhi told AFP that the bus stopped several times because of the terrible wind before it came to the police station. “He was arrested for disturbing public calm and was later released on parole”, Gandhi said.
He adds that the person has threatened other passengers and has caused trouble at the police station.
He left with another bus the following day while insisting that his socks did not smell.
