Haley made comments during the reception organised by the Kosovo General Consulate in New York and the American Chamber in Kosovo, where accredited ambassadors were invited to the UN, as well as representatives of the Albanian diaspora and American businesses. The high degree did not overlook and the fact that her husband is of Albanian origin broadcasts the TCh.
We wanted to participate in this event for several reasons. I'm here with my husband whose grandfather came to America from Albania. We have a lot in common with Kosovars in the Albanian community. We are trying to get the recognition of all countries in the UN, and we will continue to do so until Kosovo gains recognition”, Haley said.
The reason we do this, Haley went on, is that we have some common values: we respect each other, we believe in each other and we have the same democratic values. She recalled how Kosovo Albanians were willing to assist when Texas was hit by the hurricane this year and added that this speaks of the ties the two people share.
The ambassador further hinted that her presence at the event was and a clear message of the fact that America will continue to remain a friend country for Kosovo.
