Thaci: KSF is professional force thanks to KFOR

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said today that the outgoing commander of KFOR, Giovanni Fungo, is a witness friend of Kosovo and the region.

I say thank you and goodbye today. The time when Fungo served has been an important time in the country. We are grateful to all soldiers serving in KFOR. KFOR preserves and builds peace”, Thaci said at the change of command ceremony in the peacekeeping force in Kosovo, kp reports.

Kosovo, according to him, remains committed to good neighbourly relations and dialogue with Serbia, while saying that thanks to KFOR and NATO the Kosovo Security Force is a multi-ethnic and professional force.

“The KSF is now ready for new competencies and the new” mission, Thaci has said.

At KFOR headquarters, the shift of command is under way, where Italian Giovanni Fung leaves office for his successor, General Major Salvatore Cuoci.
