Serbian families living in northern Mitrovica, many of them in occupied Albanian dwellings, except that they have never returned to live on their property, they themselves have damaged their homes and some have even sold them.
Over 2m euros given for the construction of Serb homes have been missed since Serbs from several villages in the Vushtrri municipality, who after the end of the war have fled north of Kosovo and in different parts of Serbia, although ideal conditions have been created for quiet living in their property from which they have fled, have never returned to live where they have property and property.
The municipality of Vushtrria and various foreign organisations have made sure that displaced Serbs are built houses, and besides building their houses have been mobilised and stimulated by 2,000 euros just to return and start life on their property, the newspaper voice writes today.
Similar conditions for Serbs have created the Mitrovica municipality, but Serb families have never returned there. There are 63 houses that have been built with foreign donations in the villages of Majouraj, the Dolatine of Vushtrri, in which displaced Serbs in northern Mitrovica would have to return, but also in Serbia.
But, although they had agreed to return, houses have remained empty since 2003, as Serbian families continue to live in northern Mitrovica, the majority in the usurped residences of Albanians, but also in different parts of Serbia. In 2003 35 houses were built in the village of Majunaj for just as many Serbian families who wanted to return to live in this village.
A year later, also for the same purpose, 15 other houses were built in the village of Slatina, while 13 houses were built in 2010 for Serbian families. These houses are built with funds from European organizations and governments of states.
In addition to building houses for returnees, their houses were also furnished, while with the return Serbian families, according to a project, were also given 2 thousand euros”, the municipal official for Kthim said in Vushtrri, Ekrem Merovci.
