“We are a nation of two sovereign states, both of our countries have a dream, have a purpose, integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions”, Thaci said at a ceremony marking 105 years since Albania's declaration of independence and the Day of Albanian National Flag, reports “92”, the Periscopi broadcast.
According to him, November 28th is a celebration of “establishing dignity and strengthening the national conscience”, and that day marks the “moment of separation from long slavery and the beginning of the modernisation era of the Albanian people”.
He noted that nearly a century after the establishment of the Albanian state, Kosovo was finally set free thanks to hard efforts crowned by the Kosovo Liberation Army, which found support in the democratic world in the US, the Union and NATO.
According to him, never before were Albanians in a better historical position than at this time: “Albania is a member of the strongest military organisation in the world, NATO. Kosovo is a free and Sovereign state. ”
In addition, Thaci said that with clear philosophy and orientation towards Western democratic values, Kosovo and Albania today are developing joint economic, cultural and political relations as never before. /Periscopi/
