The prosecutor suspects that the axe killer in Pec is mentally ill

Two days before the International Day for Elimination of Violence to Women, November 25, a such victim was recorded in Kosovo. Sevdie Berisha was brutally killed with ax by her husband, Iseni. Their more than 30-year marriage ended dramatically on November 17th, as a result of poor relations between the couple, but also difficult economic conditions. The Express newspaper stayed in Peja Fidanish district, but her children didn't talk about killing their mother. The prosecutor of the case, meanwhile, has said that the author of the murder has requested psychiatric examination.

On Friday morning, November 17th, 66-year-old Isen Berisha, after coming out for a cigarette in his backyard, you were back inside with an axe in his hand, with which he had hit his wife several times in the head, 14 years younger, Sevdije Berisha, who was standing at the burning house just moments earlier. Alone in this situation between the couple, the young woman had tried to stop her father - in - law, but he had also hit her, causing her injuries to her head and hands.

A week later, on November 25, around 18:30 pm, 52-year-old Sevdi passed away at the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo, failing to survive wounds suffered by her husband. Her 27-year-old Arlinda cloud has stabilised the situation.

The Express newspaper has stayed at the Berisha family's home in Fidanishte district on Monday in Pec, where only the couple's children remain. The family's younger son, 17-year-old Hasan, has refused to talk about Express, has only confirmed that he has already closed his view of his mother and that his brothers have agreed not to talk about the media about the case in their family.

Their father, Iseni, is currently in custody for a month after being arrested for the event, which was originally named attempted serious murder.

The case attorney, Ardian Hajdaraj, in a proposal for Express, has confirmed that he has ordered the suspect's psychiatric examination, whose results will clear up the entire situation.

I, under official duty, have given orders to have the suspect examined. By the date 23.11.2017 was proposed his psychiatric examination, which was approved by the Court, and I'm aware the doctor was sent to examine it. Without a psychiatrist's report we can't talk about his psychic state”, Hajdaraj said.

The deteriorating relationships that had lasted for years among married couples are believed to have been the causes of this tragedy.

“More than that is the result of the social plight in the family. At first it was reported that these had continued marital problems, I verified in the unit to protect victims of domestic violence, but there was no official case reported by either victim or family. Arlinda, who is in the hospital and the suspect, has been interviewed, and they admit that she's been in constant trouble for a long time, but they haven't been reported to responsible bodies”, prosecutor Hajdaraj added.

Several evidence has been sent to the laboratory for expertise, as is the axe with which the suspect committed criminal acts, as well as a weapon without a half-automatic call.7,6239.

Sevdie Berisha was killed two days before International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, November 25th, also marking Kosovo.

The O Mission has reacted to Sevdija's murder. The SEU in Kosovo, condemning the case.

“We are grieving and angry by another death as a result of domestic violence”, the OSCE's response said.

Reaction has also taken place by the Kosovo Women's Network, which has called on all institutions to deal seriously with the violence and murders that are being committed to women.
