MP Glauk Konjufca has filed several questions to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj about the Projection for the Change of the Religious Freedoms Law.
He has said there is no difference that was made in the bill among religious communities.
If a state affects the organisation of religious life, it directly touches freedom of expression, religious freedom. It's good to know in Kosovo that there's an evil that's recognised the legal status of religious entities, but a problem that comes to us at the beginning of the law is that there is no legal difference, at least I can't notice, there's no difference between these six religious communities, which you've established with historical character. There is no difference between these traditional religious communities and these young people now that you want to create. So I'm asking what's the difference between them. Kosovo must be very careful what the reasonable quotas for creating a religious community” will be, Konjufca has said.
Conjufca, however, has said that religious communities should be consulted if changes are made to this Law.
If by this law we encourage even greater religious debate in Kosovo, I don't think this would contribute to what has been very obvious and we've boasted about it, which is religious tolerance. If this is affected, we should be careful. I don't know how well we consulted with religious communities. In the debates I've seen, I've seen heated debates that they haven't consulted at all about changes to the law”, Conjufca/Periscope/
