Justice Minister Shows When EULEX Mission in Kosovo Will End

Abelard Tahiri says Simmons' statements damaged EULEX's image.

Denoncing former EULEX Judges Chairman Malcolm Simmons for corruption within EULEX has damaged this institution's image and mission. So says Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri.

Tahiri said mission EULEX) from June 2018 will no longer be part of Kosovo's justice system.

We're entering the transit phase. That means transferring all the subjects that are in court or prosecutor. This phase means that everything that has the mission EULEX, which connects with Kosovo institutions, will be transported to justice institutions”, Tahiri stressed on television 21.

The minister thinks this mission has helped rule the law in Kosovo.

Despite accusations of corruption on this mission, there have been people who have engaged in empowering the rule and law in the Republic of Kosovo”, the minister concluded.
