An hour after the polls closed, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj says Kosovo testifies to being a country of democracy.
Below his full scripture:
Kosovo has also developed an important, fair and democratic process of elections and has proved that it is prepared to organise elections on international standards.
I appreciate the great and extraordinary work of all institutions responsible for organising the elections, and also the security mechanisms that have been taken care of for the betterment of this process.
I congratulate all Kosovo citizens, in all municipalities where the second round of elections has been held, on participating in this process and the maturity shown by expressing their will.
The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has testified in this election that it is an organised party and an important political factor in Kosovo.
I hope all AAK candidates, who have won in their municipalities, praise all members of the Alliance and our supporters for the election race in all municipalities and for the dedication to our loyalty.
I also wish all other parties' candidates, who have scored victories in their municipalities, and expressed my conviction that we will have excellent co-operation, regardless of party affiliations!
Kosovo today has proved to be a country of democracy with clear prospects.
