This deep victory, according to Veliu, has come as citizens are satisfied with his work and engagement as chairman.
My “Picture is the result of my work and commitments for my city. The same will continue in the next four years”, Veliu told Kosovas.
According to Veliu, the second time he received votes from the LDK electorate that had not come to the polls in the first time. He denies being helped by other political subjects.
He is even convinced that there are no candidates from other parties that could remove him from the presidential post.
In the first round for mayor of Veliu for a few votes, he had not won without a run-off.
On November 19th, he faced VV candidate Ayjet Potter, one of UCK's renowned commanders in the Llap Zone. But neither did that, since the LDK candidate secured the mandate for the next four years.
Podujevo is traditionally known as the LDK bastion and since the post-war is led by this party. /Kosovo pres/
