German Chancellor Angela Merkel has given that the federal government will allocate one billion euros to cities and regions across the country in 2018.
This step will be taken as an effort to reduce traffic pollution, the AP writes.
The funds will be invested in other sectors, such as electric buses, electricity stations and road infrastructure, so air pollution can be reduced.
Many cities in Germany face exemptions from driving because air pollution exceeds the maximum level allowed because of overloaded cars.
