Kurti does not recognise Thaci as president, while Hashim Thaci has on several occasions accused Albin Kurti of not being involved in the KLA freedom fight, as well as the conference by Serbian Kurti prisons, which Thaci has described as suspicious.
Albin Kurti and Kosovo President Hashim Thaci are very fierce political opponents.
Kurt, he doesn't even know Thaci for president, but this has not prevented him from decorating him with the highest state medal “Freedom Order”.
This decision, President Thaci, has been made yesterday to honour the leaders of the 1997 student movement and to honour this year's October 1st protest, writes the paper.net.
Thaci was not to give the decoration to organisers, but neither did all organisers attend the ceremony nor was MP Kurti.
The “Freedom Order” on behalf of President Thaci has shared his adviser Ismail Syla, who said he feels honored to award this award on the 20th anniversary of the October 1st 1997 protest and the Student Movement.
He has stressed that the next year takes place half a century of Kosovo's modern history, while citing the 1968 demonstrations, the 1981 demonstrations, the October 1, 1997 protests, and the bright war of the Kosovo Liberation Army, as the most glorious events that mark the Albanian history of this period.
Rector of Uppoke, Marjan Demaj, said the October 1st 1997 protests broke fears, as long as he appreciated the contribution of UP students, professors and the historical sector Ejup Statovci, who have given the way to freedom.
He said October 1st of 9708) marked the landmark turn in Albanian history, turning Kosovo into an important topic for international media and making visions for freedom and independence leave space for new visions.
