An election spot calling for a vote for the Serbian List and which, under the spot, contained the words “Vota for the Serbian List is a vote for Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija” has cost the party 22 thousand euros in fines in the country's north.
BIRN and Internews Kosova on October 18th has filed a complaint against the Serbian List due to the violation of the Goodwill Code for Political Subjects.
The complaint presented claims that the spot published on the Serbian List page had come against the General Election Law.
In the submitted complaint, B IRN and Internews Kosova claimed that the political subject, the Serbian List, had violated LPZ Article 33, which determines the use of the language, in written form or oral, that promotes or provokes, or that could spur or provoke, another person to commit an act of violence against other persons or property, or that would either promote or promote hatred or promote hate against others, or by using either pictures or pictures, symbols or whatever other material has or could have such an impact of<1).
B INR and I/KS have found that except that the Serbian List spot reportedly “Vota for the Serbian List was a vote for Serbia in Kosovo and Metohija”, a map of Serbia was also presented on spot with all of Kosovo within it.
Serbian List in Its Reply to PZAP stressed that the post was not made on their page and that they do not manage the page in “Facebook”, where the spot is published.
This subject has also argued that such a video may have been posted by their political opponents in order to harm them.
The reasons provided by the Serbian List have not been found based on PZAP, which has found that the spot with the above-remarked content was also on the official page of the Serbian List and the one on a continuous basis that no measures were taken to get rid of it with the reasoning that they could not find the video spot.
PZAP during the conviction proclamation has taken into account the fact that the Serbian List had been fined for the same violation in this year's general elections.
Also, as circumstances have been taken into account the amount of tools they accept from Kosovo's budget for election campaign development.
