Saving the Budget From Highways

The chairman of the Kosovo Economic Ode, Safet Gerjaliu, in a proposal for Radio Free Europe says the most necessary investments are in establishing the country's economy through projects developing the private sector.

Investments in the educational system by the executive director of the American Economic Ode in Kosovo, Arrian Zeka, are highlighted as one of the most necessary orientations to be made budget.

In this year's budget, the Kosovo Government's top priority in determining budgetary policies has been the construction of highways and highway asphalt.

Of the planned 2 billion euros, 700m euros were earmarked for capital investments, which was about 50 percent more than it had in 2016.

As far as Kosovo's budget for 2018 is concerned, it is still under discussion in the government cabinet, then it is expected to be discussed in the Kosovo Assembly.

But, from the Kosovo Government representatives' statements so far, it has been stressed that in Kosovo's budget for 2018, the main country will take capital spending, as well as reflect government priorities such as rule of order and law.
