Kosovo police are refusing to accept that it is a corrupt institution and that there are investigative police officers in it who are blackmailing. In a public response, this institution has said that individual cases of involvement of its members in criminal circles do not harm police. In this case, they have sought not to stain the most reliable institution in the Republic.
This reaction has come after publishing a text in the media in which the PK is said to be a corrupt institution.
The texts published by Kosovo media mention the facts of how Kosovo Police leaders daily participate in blackmail, crime and corruption until the assembly of cases of murder.
However, the response to the media is said to be the KK's law enforcement institution, and in all cases it acts as a double legal authorisation.
“PK estimates the tendency to present The KP, as a corrupt and non-professional institution, is not understood otherwise except to tarnish and label the values of thousands of police officials who sacrifice day and night for the safety of Kosovo citizens”.
“As far as doubts and hypotheses raised on a number of corrupt police officers, corruption within the police, and as if a drop in credibility, we assure you that these writings are untrue and unrealistic, as Kosovo Police are not corrupt and that police continue to be assessed by local and international loan mechanisms as one of the most trusted and transparent institutions in the country” continues the response.
On the other hand, it is said that the KP is and will continue to be professional, without wavering in the fulfillment of its mission, vision and objectives, not influenced by such writings with specific intentions of damaging police image.
It even says that the KP can serve as a state-level model for effective and effective public money management and development of public procurement procedures, despite many specifics, difficulties and needs that the police institution has.
Kosovo's “Police and its management are committed to fulfilling its legal duties and obligations in good security and order in the Republic of Kosovo, in addition to the high ethics, integrity and values that the KP has, where we are consistently distinguished for efficiency even in dealing with cases where KP members are suspected of illegal activity. However, the individual action of any police official cannot dim the image of the police organisation”, writes further in response.
A few media and NGO investigations are included in the response, showing police transparency.
