The Czech millionaire and millionaire of Slovak descent, Andrej Babes, who is considered the frontrunner for Czech prime minister, said during an election debate that NATO should turn into an offensive alliance.
“We need to ask ourselves whether NATO should be even further a defence alliance, or should turn into an offensive alliance, because now NATO has other enemies”, Babish told Czech magazine Blesk, which is involved in the candidates' debate for prime minister.
Babash, as leader of the Action of Disadvantile Citizens, for which the party in the polls will vote 25 to 30 per cent of the Czechs, changing NATO's role in the offensive coalition cited it as part of the solution to attack trafficking ships in the Mediterranean to resolve the situation in Syria and Libya, and to halt migration before Europe's borders.
In election campaign and party election programme, Babish NATO has named it the most important international organisation for Czechia and has named the Alliance a pillar for his country's security. /21Media
