Kurtz from Austria's People's Party has received most of the seats at the National Council, ranging 57 out of 183 seats, according to the ORF's version of the pole.
Before the elections, Kurz served as Austria's foreign minister, had become the youngest diplomat in Europe when he was appointed in 2013, with only 27.
In May 2017, he became leader of the ⇩VP party. Kurz began his political career at the party's youth branch, which he chaired before being appointed to Vienna City Hall, reports the BBC.
Known by the nickname “Wunderwuzi” (which means "one who can walk on water"), it is compared to the new leaders of France and Canada, Emmanuel Macron and Justin Trudeau.
Just like Macron, Sebastian Kurz created a new move around himself, re-called "VP" which had previously been in power for more than 30 years but by a different name.
Kurz is known as a friend of the state of Kosovo. In February of this year, in the role of Austria's top diplomat, he visited Kosovo. He met with top state leaders, including former Prime Minister Isa Mustafa and President Hashim Thaci.
In addition, Kurz had previously been on an official visit to Kosovo in 2016. Likewise, Kurz had hosted an official meeting of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci in Austria earlier this year.
He, every time, has expressed Austrian state support for Kosovo. /Insader
