A documentary published by the BBC speaks of Enver Hoxha's dictatorial regime in Albania, which lasted about 40 years from which many were killed and executed. The preaching of religion was also banned and churches and mosques were destroyed.
BBC journalist Andree Hosken also speaks of Nikolin Kurti, who discovered a mass grave near Tirana in Albania while he was looking for the remains of his Catholic uncle, who was killed by Enver Hoxha's regime, writes the opinion. al
For about 40 years, Albania, a country with a population of 3 million, has been cut off from the world. But what happened to six thousand missing people throughout the communist regime?
In central Tirana is the Pyramid a symbolic museum of that regime.
Nikolin Kurti relates to his uncle who was a Catholic priest in the church of Tirana, but after the dictatorial regime banned the preaching of religion, he was forced to work at the agricultural co-operative. Because he secretly preached the Catholic religion, where he performed secret baptisms required of believers, he was executed by the regime of Enver Hoxha. His tomb and many people then executed are still unknown.
Relatives of the missing have made demands on incumbent Prime Minister Edi Rama for finding the remains of the missing and returning to their families”, writes BBC/konica/
