That's what the head of the EU delegation in Serbia, Sam Fabrizi, spoke to the Serbian medium “Tanjug” on Wednesday.
Fabrizi was commenting on a statement visiting US Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Brian Yee, who said two days ago that Serbia “could not sit on two chairs at the same time” referring to the country's EU membership bid and its close ties with Russia.
The EU's top diplomat in Belgrade today also said Serbia, since EU integration is its strategic priority, “should act in line with its commitment to regional co-operation and stabilisation”, reports “b92”, Periscopi broadcast.
Serbia is already contributing to the EU missions for managing EU civilian and military crises, which we welcome. But we expect further efforts regarding the EU's common foreign and security policy by the date of accession”, he said.
Fabrizi also stressed that the EU's common foreign and security policy leaves “a great room to develop bilateral relations with non-EU member states, provided the common framework” is respected. /Periscopi/
