“If America issues arrest warrants for my 13 bodyguards, I'm sorry, but I'm not going to say that this country is civilized”, Erdoğan said at the Civilisation Forum at Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul, reports “Hurriyet Daily News”, Perscopi broadcast.
On June 15th, the United States issued arrest warrants for 16 people, including Erdoğan's bodyguards, suspected of being linked to a clash outside the Turkish Embassy in Washington during the Turkish president's visit in May.
He confirmed that the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and members of terror the Gruevski Organisation were united in protest against him in a short distance of 40-50m, where he was with his bodyguards.
Erdogan also criticised US President Donald Trump's policy for Muslims, saying Turkey has never closed its doors to people who think otherwise.
