The diaspora will have facilities at border points

Diaspore and Investments Minister Dardan Gashi has delivered good news for fellow countrymen living in the diaspora. He has said that very soon the issue of waiting at the border points will be resolved, after the start of the week the memorandum will be signed between some institutions for creating facilities at the country's entry. [...]

He in an interview for Kosovo has indicated that there are attempts for border payments to be eliminated.

“It is the question of waiting on borders that have always been the subject and complaint of the diaspora that because of green cardboard or the aspect of car insurance they have been forced to step down from vehicles to wait for a row, all after their tiring travels. At the beginning of next week, the memorandum will be signed with the insurance companies with the Kosovo Police, the Interior Ministry and we as the leading minister, where this practice will practically change when we are ready to publish how I will change. .... There will be changes in the approach, and the attempt is to eliminate it and to find another “model, Gashi said.

The education of the diaspora with supplementary lessons is the other priority the Diaspora minister says they plan to adjust. Even on this issue, he said that, along with the Albanian government, they will sign agreements to jointly find elections.

The second part that is always of particular importance to us is supplementary education for our diaspora children who are being educated in schools in their countries but who need supplementary instruction. At the end of November, the gathering of two governments -- that of Albania and Kosovo -- will be signed between the two states where the Republic of Albania and Kosovo will jointly finance, jointly select teachers and educators from next year. There's going to be a financial and financial conclusion but also in terms of personnel to improve markedly the quality of supplementary education for our children. These are like two key empty topics, and the second one will last longer than it is not just a matter of two parliament decisions should ratify”, Gashi said.

He believes that within this mandate the effects of close co-operation will be seen with Albania. He also mentioned the diaspora registration issue, which he has said is satisfied with the achievements of this project.

The record has gone as it has gone, but it seems to me that it has gone well in terms of what we now have close to 350 thousand registered countrymen and we know where they are, we know exactly what these professions are. You should remember that this is a volunteer registration and is not mandatory. Even here, the ministry had to be creative about where to get more, airports, border points, different organisations, different events. Even at the border point, however, there is still volunteer work as to whether anyone stops recording. With all these difficulties again, I believe a large number that we have achieved -- the ministry ahead, the two former ministers -- to do a big job, to have this registry. Of course the work will continue. We think there's still a large number on record and we'll see how to find out, how to do with «the incompatibles that even these people get cut into the” register, Gashi said.

Gashi also told about the meetings he had with O's chief. SBES on the diaspora vote issue. He expects reliefs to be created with election reform for citizens living abroad.

We'll have meetings with the CEC. It is not just a question of the Diaspora Ministry how they will vote because it is a legal aspect, where it can and how it can because of the similarity to the vote. It must have acceptible procedure for all, and it is also part of the electoral reform, which is expected to take place during this mandate, this parliament. But anyway, we will insist that the diaspora be facilitated by voting, whether at embassies or other methods, or some other” method, Gashi said.

He has added that 350,000 Kosovo citizens living abroad so far are registered, but are not satisfied with the number of diaspora participants in the election.

If we talk about 350,000 registered and we have about 10,000 voters, the largest number ever to have occurred 10 grand, 11 grand, then you see the big difference and clearly unfunctionable. There is no conversation here, nor is it made of beauty, it means that there is no functioning and much injustice. This has to be fixed, but the political consensus is hard to fix“, Gashi said.

Gashi has also pledged that in the future she plans to exploit the entire network the ministry has established in order to promote foreign investors in the country.
