In a scandal with a tender of essential drugs in 2010, Berat Marmulaku was involved with three other Health Ministry officials.
Marmulaku and three other officials were accused of misuse of official office, since in the quality of the members of the tender assessment commission for supplies of drugs from the essential list had exceeded competencies by recommending as the winning “Medical Group”, though the same had not met the criteria.
With this tender, the company had managed to obtain contracts worth over 74 thousand euros, wrote Schneta newspaper.
But on this charge Marmulaku and other officials were acquitted in March of last year on the grounds that they found no evidence.
Even after those charges, Berat Marmulaku has been appointed chief of Procuration at the Ministry of Health.
His appointment comes only a few weeks after Ismaili Bridge from the ranks of the Democratic Party of Kosovo came to the helm of the ministry.
Ismaili had promised reforms in the MSH and had also warned of greater accountability. /Gazzeta Shneta/
