The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, hosted US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Brian Yee, with whom he had warm and friendly conversations today, announces the government statement, broadcast Koha.net.
Haradinaj highly praised US support for Kosovo in all phases of statehood and said the continued US role in maintaining peace and stability not only in Kosovo but also in the region and wider is vital and said preserving and cultivating, as well as deepening permanent friendship relations with the US for Kosovo, is of particular importance.
He reported Hoyt Brian Yee with developments in Kosovo and the dynamics defined in domestic affairs, with particular emphasis on the area of rule of law and on the country's economic development, as well as commitment to meeting the criteria in the Euro-Atlantic integration process.
The first of the Government stressed that Kosovo is committed to its European path and is working intensively on internal reforms to fulfil obligations stemming from the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, with the aim of linking the country with candidate status for EU membership.
Prime Minister Haradinaj said Kosovo will fulfil all its international obligations and stressed the need for international consolidation of the state through membership in the UN, the EU and NATO.
US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Brian Yee praised the prime minister for his post and stressed that the US will continue to support Kosovo in all its processes. He said the European integration route for Kosovo and for the countries of the region is open and encouraged the country's institutions to engage in deepening internal reforms, in the area of rule of law and in promoting economic development.
