Vetevendosje Parliamentary Group chief Glauk Konjufca has said LVV aims to be a strong opposition, which will help democracy. At a meeting with EU office chief Konjufca has said the opposition will take the crucial role in the processes Kosovo will pass
“Being in opposition, we aim to make it a powerful opposition to cohort democracy”, he has declared during today's meeting with EU Office chief Natalia Apostolova.
He further said the EU has played a role in Kosovo developments, but according to him, the EU has not worked as long as citizens have expected.
“We know that Kosovo has many challenges and the important role the EU has in all developments in Kosovo. Since you've been present with your mission to Kosovo for nine years, you've been making the most valuable contribution to several” areas, Conjufca has said.
But according to him, citizens' expectations towards the EU have been much bigger.
But it's clear that citizens' expectations have been much bigger for your”, he stressed.
He has also talked about what five EU states have yet to recognise Kosovo as a state. And that, according to him, has stopped the process.
The non-recognition of these states has stopped much, presents a serious obstacle to European integration in terms of Kosovo”, it has indicated.
Furthermore, Konjufca has said past governments have not worked at all on independence of the judiciary.
The serious problem is also that the EU has been present and has been busy with reforms, but any upcoming report (progress report) has a criticism of the dimension of the judiciary's impartiality. So two of our basic criticisms are the political impact on the judiciary and the nonreformation of public administration. These are the two main pillars for which past governments have never worked at”, he stressed.
Meanwhile, it has estimated that Kosovo has been delayed in implementing the SAA.
We know that Koosva has a lot of obligations and that we are expecting a lot of work in terms of SAA implementation. We've been too late in this respect and the previous government has had a lot of deadlock”, the LVV deputy stressed.
Meanwhile, speaking of the new government, Konjufca has said it would be very difficult to advance the processes without the opposition.
We're dealing with a government that has a minimum number. Therefore, all projects will depend on the opposition. So the opposition will have a crucial role in the processes Kosovo is undergoing. So we call on the government not to make past government mistakes”, he underlined.
