The new study shows that initial explorers arrived at a prehistoric supercontinent called Sahul some 58,000 years ago.
This vast land included Australia, New Guinea, and Tasmanian before being separated from rising sea levels.
Previous studies have revealed that modern - day people have a small percentage of the Neanderthal's ANDʹa because of racial combination.
Similarly, this unknown human race has contributed about four percent of the indigenous Australian genome.
The findings also appear to resolve a long lead argument among experts on how the first people left Africa.
“They are probably the oldest group in the world that you can connect to a particular location”, says the expert Willerslev.
It was also found that there is great diversity in the genetic makeup of indigenous peoples in Australia itself. /Periscopi/
