In this regard, however, justice organs have been declared. In a pronomation for naughteksonline, Pristina Centre Prosecutor-in-chief Imer Beka has indicated that the prosecution he led has mobilised with all necessary measures for local elections.
According to Beka, several prosecutors are engaged who will handle the process.
The foundation procedure in Pristina is mobileisation and has taken all necessary measures. For this, there has been an extremely large number of prosecutors around twenty (20) prosecutors, who will since now convey the election campaign development process and elections”, Beka has said.
He has further indicated the municipalities this prosecutor will forward. According to him, the Republic's penal code has envisioned specific chapter of criminal acts, which are also caused during the voting process.
The Founding Procurory in Pristina will convey these locations as Pristina municipality, Podujevo, Darenas, Lipjani, Fushë Kosovo, Obilik and the municipality of Gracanicas. In past elections, I have no chance to mention, except for some incidents that have not affected the process of past central-level elections. Kosovo's penal code has envisioned the particular chapter of criminal acts that are caused in connection with the voting process”, he has said further.
On the other hand, Bekka mentions some cases that may be caused in the process. And according to him, the perpetrators of these crimes may be pronounced a prison sentence for several years.
“Shares the most frequent acts that could be caused in the election processes are: violation of the right to run, candidate canon, misuse of official office during elections, granting bribery in terms of voting, misuse of voting rights, etc. The sentences, on the other hand, may be dependent on the criminal offence committed by between 1 and 5 years in prison”, Beka has indicated.
In the end, Chief Prosecutor Beka has promised that the prosecution, which is led by him for any illegal action, will act in the case of its competencies in order for the elections to be as free and fair as possible. I will also defend the free vote, which is the main foundation of democracy”, has ended Beka.
