University researcher “Princeton”, Jordi Grupera, has posted a video on the civil Guard's social network, where he sees a number of Civil Guard shooting at the crowd.
The polling stations are opening today from 9: 00 p.m. in Catalonia, despite fierce opposition from Madrid.
Catalonia, a wealthy region in northeastern Spain, has 7.5 million inhabitants, as well as its language and culture.
There is also a high degree of autonomy, but is not recognised as a state separate from the constitution of Spain.
