New Business Counts

The number of new businesses in Kosovo has scored for the first two quarters of 2017, with 610 new companies less, compared to the same period last year. According to the Central Bank's report for TM2, the number of new companies registered was 5,087 or 610 companies [...]

According to the Central Bank's report on TM2, the number of new registered companies was 5,087 or 610 companies less than in the same period in 2016, while noting the decline of businesses that have been closed, 890 such companies or 494 companies less than for last year's TM1 and TM2.

Of the 5,087 new companies registered, the largest number continue to be concentrated in the trade sector with 1,422 new companies, followed by the hotel sector with 539 companies and production of 499 new companies.

Meanwhile, the sectors marking the largest number of registered companies were the sector of professional activities with 24 more companies and the construction sector with 15 more companies.

Compared to the first half of 2016, in most sectors there has been a smaller number of registered companies, since the production sector has marked the largest decline in new registered companies, with 178 companies less. And immediately after the productivity sector, with just one company less, follows the trade sector characterised by 177 less registered companies. /N. Jakupi.
