Serbia's prime minister, Ana Brnabiq, said Friday that Serbian judges and prosecutors have not taken the oath before Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, but have issued separate and neutral statements.
For you to have precise information: our judges have made no oaths, but have issued a separate, neutral declaration on status. The truth is important”, Brnabiq said.
As the Balkan Radio Service Free Europe broadcasts, Brnabyq has reacted to a text of the oath that has appeared in social media.
According to this text, Serbian judges and prosecutors, before President Thaci, have said: “Solemnically I declare that during my service as judge of the Republic of Kosovo, I will remain loyal to the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo and do the work of the judge with honour, responsibility and impartially, respecting the rules of professional ethics”.
At the office of the president of Kosovo on October 20th, 40 judges and 13 prosecutors from the north of Kosovo have been sworn in.
